From Where I Stand – OOTD’s

Hello again!

This week, I’ve really been trying my best to get good outfit of the day pictures. Sadly, this didn’t go too well as I was always either rushing out the door or the lighting was sketchy. From Where I Stand photo’s are always great, I can usually get the main body of my outfit in, without revealing too much and also, they can be taken in public without too many people noticing! (It does tend to get awkward when they do see you taking photo’s of your body in the middle of the street.. just saying’)

Recently, I’ve noticed my absolute obsession with shoes – from sandals to heels to runners. I love them all and I want them all. My first FWIS of the week included my new favourites – White and black bow detailed sandals from River Island. I got these on sale last week for around 25 euro. I remember falling in love with them weeks ago, so when I saw them on sale and one pair left in my size I just had to buy them.   I paired these with my white skinny jeans and a long length, chiffon, side-split cami from Penneys (Primark).

My next FWIS featured my beloved white jeans yet again, this time paired with an oversized chiffon navy polkadot shirt and the cutest brogues I have ever seen in my life. Who doesn’t need a paid of leopard print shoes in their wardrobe?

I got this pair on sale in Aldo for 22 euro (STEAL!). The shirt is from Romwe and the jeans are good old New Look.

Last but not least – today’s FWIS.

Casual Sunday Breakfast out with my parents called for Ripped black skinny jeans from Topshop, a grey cami and oversized red tartan shirt from River Island together with my amazing new black heeled sandals from none other than – Dunnes Stores. I can safely say I never really pictured myself loving their clothes and shoes as much as I do. These sandals are definitely a new wardrobe staple. That paired with the fact I got them at 50% off (12 euro!, who doesn’t love a good bargain?), you can’t go wrong really!

That’s all for today 🙂 Leave your comments below with suggestions of what you’d like to see on Dancing in Dior and don’t forget to follow me on Twitter & Instagram @dancingindior

Fashion Fix ~ Outfit of the Day

Hello 🙂

This is my first ever full outfit of the day. As I work in an office, there’s not much choice when it comes to dressing first thing in the morning. I would be considered the least ‘conservative’ in the office and would often wear brighter colours than most.

I don’t like to wear much jewelry in work because honestly, I can’t stand the noise of bracelets and watches clacking off the keyboard. When I get stressed, the noise makes my head want to explode.

It is Summer after all, so I opted for an extremely bright orange roll neck shirt, basic black bodycon skirt, black tights and black Zanni & Co boots.

How beautiful is this shirt? I’d never usually pick such a bright colour but the detailing is out of this world. Just above the pleats there is is a zipper.

I got this in Dunnes Stores for €25.

My bodycon skirt was given to me by my sister and I got my boots in a local boutique, Shoe be Do for around €50 last year.

On my way put the door I did grab my black, ankle length, ribbed cardigan from New Look that I got for €10 in their sale in January. My office can be quite chilly sometimes and this is perfect for it. It’s a lightweight material so I still feel a little summery.

That’s all for now 🙂

Well Hello There!

Hi guys!

It’s been awhile, right? I’ve been super busy, and if I’m completely honest, didn’t know whether I’d come back to blogging.

Oh yes, I got the fear! The fear that someone I know would find my blog and make fun of it. Let’s just say I had a hard time with Youtube when I was 15.

I logged into my blogs instagram and had a few people wondering where I was. I was already considering starting to blog again but thanks to Leanne from lifeStyle for Less, who definitely gave me the push with her kind words, here I am. I thought, why not?! I’ve met so many amazing people through my blog and really enjoyed it so yes. I’m back!

I will ask you to bear with me while I get back into it. I started my new job a few months ago and had college and exams (all thankfully behind me).

I hope you all had a wonderfully, fantastic Christmas and New Year.

Follow me on instagram in the mean time!

I will be hosting a giveaway to get your hands on some fab goodies from brands such as Catrice, Essence, NYX, Simple & a few other little bits and bobs! These will all be paid for using my own money and no sponsorship will be used.

Update :)

Hello Beautiful People!

So today I just thought I’d post an update of my life as I’m crazy busy at the moment so I don’t have time (until this weekend!) to post any reviews/tutorials.

I’m due to leave my current role as a Legal Executive in two weeks, where I’ll be joining a financial firm as a Trainee Accountant. I couldn’t be happier, even though I’m terrified. I have been doing a night course in Payroll and the job was initially for someone in Payroll with 3 years experience. I guess I lucked out because even though I’m only half way through my course (and have never worked in Payroll)  they’re willing to take me on as a Payroll Technician and then train me up as an Accountant.

For someone who’s only 22 and never went to ‘proper college’ I think I’m doing very well for myself and I’m finally going places. (My previous jobs included retail and Flight Attendant!)

I’ve also set myself five challenges for the upcoming months.

Get healthy & fit. – If you’ve read my previous blog posts you’ll know I’ve come a long way weight-wise in the last few years. Lately, I’ve been eating so bad and my body knows it so I’m determind to get back into shape! I’ve also started TRX. As an exercise hater, I can’t believe I’m saying this but I LOVE TRX! My instructor is amazing and doesn’t make you feel crappy if you can’t do some of the moves. I’ve already come on leaps and bounds from 4 classes. It starts back next week and I can’t wait! I’m looking to lose 10 lbs and no more so I’m not going to deprive myself of anything. well ehh…except for the next part, but that’s just because they’re so bad for me..not that I really genuinely want them!

This kind of ties in with the above, but I’m giving up Fizzy drinks, energy drinks, jellies & chocolate. I used to drink 3 diet fizzy drinks/diet energy drinks everyday. I’m on day two and going strong 🙂

No more frivilous spending. My lunchtimes are usually spent wasting money on crappy food and buying makeup I don’t need. I’m on a tight budget this month so I’m determind not to buy anything during the week (except for my daily treat of coffee:)), bring (and eat) my packed lunch (which is also healthier) and no trips to Boots/Topshop/New Look. I am a shop-a-holic and not afraid to admit it! I must say I will be cheating a little as I’m going to buy a dress and coat from New Look in the coming weeks (FOR MY NEW JOB!) but they’re not on sale yet so I have to wait.

Use up the makeup I already own! I’ve never finished lotions, skin care products, eyeshadows etc. so now I’m determind to use what I’ve got. This also applies to clothes. I’m going to spend the weekend organising my room, creating outfits and re-organising my makeup (so keep an eye out on IG @dancingindior and possibly a blog post or two!!)

Spend more time with friends and become more active mid-week. The bad diet and fizzy drinks are really affecting me as when I’m finished work my energy is drained. I go home, crawl into bed and that’s where I’ll stay. I’m determind to go out, make new friends, catch up with the old ones and start living a little! Tomorrow night I’m meeting up with my old colleagues for dinner, Saturday I’ve a lunch date with my boyfriend and Sunday I’m going to make an effort with my friends who I haven’t seen in months. I’ve also arranged to meet up with some colleagues from my Flight Attendant days in a couple weeks. It’s awkward to see them due to their backwards schedule.

Are you guys making any mid-year resolutions? Does anyone need a healthy diet/weight loss buddy? hehe.

xoxo Amy

Haul – August

Hello beautiful people! 😊

I went ‘window shopping’ on Sunday with my mum and put a few things on hold which my mum was kind enough to collect for me today (Payday! Weeee!)

If you’ve read my previous blog posts you’ll see I wrote a ‘Payday Picks’ post which.. Didn’t go to plan as you’ll see, but first, let’s all look and appreciate the amazingness of cheesecake that I’m currently munching on while writing this post 😊

I added some sparkles for extra amazingness.

Anyways, on to my haul!

First stop was New Look (my favourite Store of all time) where I picked up a few bits for starting my new job!

Black wedge booties with gold zip detail – 25.00

Navy jumper with gold zip detailing – 25.00 – This jumper is so soft! I picture myself living in it all winter!

Black sheer shirt – 15.00

How AMAZING is this navy & black check skirt?! I’m crazy in love with this! 25.00IMG_7259.JPG

White & Black houndstooth shawl/scarf/cover up –  I’m not sure how much it was as there was no tag. This thing is HUGE! So soft and so warm.. Excited for the colder weather now 😀

And then, I went to a local Boutique where I got this fabulous black Lucy Paris bodycon dress with gold detail reduced to €25.00!

Next up was a local shoe boutique. I’m a boot addict. When the air begins to chill, I turn to boots and will continue to live in them until it’s at least 20 degrees. I got these two gorgeous pairs of knee high biker boots reduced to €32.50 each! I got one pair in black and one brown which have gorgeous stud detailing up the back and a little buckle on the side where you can tighten them.

Then came my favourite part of the whole trip, which was of course the ‘drugstore’ which we call pharmacies in Ireland. I picked up my two brands of the moment ‘Sleek’ and ‘NYX’

I picked up two lipsticks from their matte range in Merlot (red, red wine!) and Tea Rose, a soft pink, (Tea Rose was recommended by Tayslifeunscripted and I’m definitely glad I got it!) and a lip liner in ‘Cabaret’ which is a beautiful deep red. NYX have only recently come to Ireland but I have to say they’re quickly becoming my favourite brand by miles. Pigmented, long lasting and affordable, what more could you want!?

Tea Rose, Cabaret, Merlot

Lo and behold, I then purchased this beautiful blush trio by sleek in ‘Pink Sprint’. I am in LOVE.

Sleek are known for high quality, highly pigmented shadows and blushes at super affordable prices. I paid only 13 euro for this baby and look at the colours !

I don’t believe the name Pink Sprint really applies as two of the blushes are quite red toned.
I highly recommend this palette for A/W as it’s bang on Trend.

Lastly, I purchased this maybelline mascara. I’ve never tried this particular one, but I generally love Maybelline mascaras and this was on sale for €5.00 so I couldn’t say no 🙂

Follow me on IG @dancingindior to see how I style the clothing from this haul as well as makeup looks using Sleek and NYX !

I really hope you enjoyed this post, comment and let me know what you think 🙂
